5 Ways to Stay (Relatively) Organised

Hello Readers,

Staying organised is something that can be a struggle for everyone especially when life gets busy and time becomes a luxury. However, there are a few simple steps that can be made which do not have to involve going all-out and planning the whole week in advance.

1. Invest in Some Stationary You Love

Although this one may sound a little strange,  it has definitely helped me a lot over the past couple years. Using notebooks, lists and pens I love seems to motivate me to stay on track and helps me have some pride in my work once it is completed. Brands such as Kikki K and Riffle Paper Co. are personal favourites of mine because of their gorgeous and tasteful designs.

2. Have a Nice Workspace

There’s nothing worse for my concentration than having a messy desk. By turning a  study/work space into a nicer place to be, work doesn’t always feel so tedious. I love to have a plant , lamp and an array of nice notebooks on my desk. Try not to have too  many knickknacks that will clutter and become distracting… find the balance that is right for you

3. Keep a To-do List

Ticking things of a list is honestly so satisfying and motivating especially when it seems like the things that need to be done are never-ending. A to-do list puts things in to perspective and can be used to  break down a huge and daunting task into a series of small and achievable goals.

4. Use a Focus App

Phones and other devices can be so distracting with notifications and social media but focus apps turn these devices into a motivating tool. They enable the user to set timers and block access from distracting  apps during that period of time. A particular favourite of mine is ‘Forest’. Not only are the graphics stunning but they also have a fantastic environmental impact. Forest partners with Trees for the Future and has planted over 200’000 trees so far!

5. Spend Time Outdoors

It’s hard to stay organised when you’re stressed but going outdoors for as little as 15 minutes to relax and recalibrate can make such a difference! Getting into a different head space and some fresh air can be all you need. I like to take my dog for a walk or take some photos of plants or animals in the garden but even just sitting and enjoying the outdoors is a great brain-break.
