Pressed flowers are a great way to give flowers that are about to finish a second life. They look so pretty and can be used to create so many things. I used the flowers I pressed to make my own phone case and also framed them for a nice little desk accessory.
To press your own flowers you will need:
Some fresh flower heads (try to pick ones which are quite flat i.e. don’t use roses)
A flower press/some heavy books and cardboard

The first step is to simply select and pick your chosen flowers. Next they will need to be put into a flower press and left for a few days to dry out. If you don’t have a flower press you can just place the flowers in between two sheets of cardboard and place some heavy books on top to achieve the same effect.
After a few days the flowers should be all ready to go. Ensure they are dry and lift them with care so they don’t tear (I know this from experience!). If they are still not completely dry just put them back for another couple of days and try again.
Now for the fun part… turn them into something you can use. To make a phone case all you need is a clear case (I got mine from Kmart). Place the flowers face down in the phone case, click your phone in and it’s ready to go.

They also look really nice framed. Again, super easy, just needs a frame and some white cardboard/paper to use as the background. Lift the backing off the frame and place the flowers face down on to the glass then insert the plain white cardboard/paper and put the backing back in place.
